On Thursday 6 October 2011, the 2nd Round Table on Fair Trade was held in Paris, set up by and for the professionals of the Perfumes and Cosmetics fields. It was an opportunity to assess the current situation of fair trade and to anticipate on its priorities to come. Here is a report.
October 10, 2011
On François-Patrick Sabater’s initiative, Technico Flor Group and coordinated by Michel Ceccaldi, this round table set up in Paris comes after the May 13 2011 one held in Marseille.
Led by Christophe Mangalte (consultant in sustainable innovation - Apidae), it got five people together, invited guests, with different profiles: Julie Stoll (coordinator in
Platform for Fair Trade
), Maud Reboul (in command of the Ingredients and Sustainable Networks Department in
L’Occitane-en-Provence
), Patrick Collin (Colgemma founder and CEO), François-Patrick Sabater (Technico Flor CEO) and Jérôme Vaquier (in command of the
Fair Trade Department in Ecocert
).
For more than three hours, accounts by the invited guests and the audience have made it possible to share the expertise (and passion) of people already involved in this approach. They also gave advice about the encountered difficulties, about the means needed to ease and make durable the access of companies to the fair-trade network and about the communication to the consumers.
