Everyone agrees that connected objects are about to revolutionize some of our habits, in particular in the world of health. This revolution mainly relies on what we call self-assessment. However, it should be said that this self-assessment is carried out by devices, not the users themselves. Many applications have already been developed to that effect, and the world of health has already perfectly integrated this concept.

In the beauty world, it is a little more difficult. In fact, these self-assessment techniques are much less ‘glamorous’ and many are still quite reluctant to use them. Nevertheless, this type of approaches is developing and getting more and more accurate, so that we might find ourselves in a ‘charm innovation’ situation, which reflects the fact that we are living in an era where everyone starts doing the same thing at the same time.

In a previous mood note, we had already anticipated the emergence of devices based on the use of smartphone applications able to record and process different types of information with a view to define formulation optimization criteria.
I selected two of the most recent developments which, to me, seem to be in line with this approach.
