With back to school, often synonymous with the return of skin imperfections, brands are developing skincare products that not only respect the skin’s microbiome, but also rebalance it.
Payot is revamping its cult Pâte Grise line in September 2023. The much more natural versions (97% minimum natural-origin ingredients) all contain probiotics, meadowsweet extract and tea tree essential oil.

Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, for their part, have also bet on probiotics, as in Biology AC Perfect Fluide Anti-Imperfections Anti-Marques by A-Derma (40 ml, €14.90).
Gallinée, the great expert on the subject, the brand that was among the first to “popularize” the microbiome in France, has launched an Anti-Imperfections Serum Vinegar Gelée (30 ml, €35).
Dermalogica imagines Active Moist Balancing Moisturizer (50 ml, €52) with rebalancing prebiotics for combination to oily skin.
