The Italian paper manufacturer is constantly innovating. The company has just unveiled Symbol Gift Card Board. This range, made from 100% recyclable fibres, is designed to enter the normal paper recycling circuit.
Usually, the gift or loyalty cards used by cosmetics brands are made of plastic. Fedrigoni wanted to offer a more environmentally-friendly alternative.
“Thanks to its exceptional surface finish, Symbol Gift Card offers results in terms of printing and conversion (precision, fine detail, etc.),” explains Fedrigoni. “This solution promises the whitest and brightest gift card on the market. It has a high grammage and excellent rigidity for optimum performance throughout the supply chain and right up to the end consumer.”
Symbol Gift Card Board has been awarded the highest rating (A+) by Aticelca 501 (paper recyclability rating system).
“The move to paper gift cards reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to continuous research and product innovation, in response to consumer awareness of sustainable development issues,” said Céline Bertuzzi, Marketing Director of Fedrigoni Special Papers. “With these paper solutions, we want to help steer the retail industry towards more responsible practices by giving brands a technically relevant alternative to plastic. In a world where unboxing (opening the gift) often overshadows the gift itself, our materials focus attention back on what really matters: the conscious offer and authenticity of the exchange.”
