Eco-refills allow to use much less plastic, but they are not recyclable. For a truly eco-friendly bathroom, Natessance (Léa Nature group) has managed to design 100% recyclable eco-packs. A first in organic stores, pharmacies and parapharmacies.
If the refill has many qualities, the Léa Nature teams have gone even further by developing flexible refillable eco-packs, in 100% recyclable plastic (doypack), including the cap, for its shower gels and detergents. “This improvement in the end-of-life of these packages is possible because they are made of monomaterial (consisting of plastic layers that can be recycled together). We encountered two major difficulties. The first was to maintain an optimal seal despite the physical and chemical constraints generated by this monomaterial. The second one concerned the welding of the cap (also recyclable) which left a very reduced welding range. Our eco-pack can be crushed and re-melted at 100%. This is a major technical evolution in the service of recycling,” says Gilles Maray, Project Manager for cosmetic packaging at Léa Nature.
As for the formulas, they are certified organic (according to the COSMOS standard) and contain up to 97% of ingredients of natural origin. They are sulfate-free, contain no palm oil or derivatives (thanks to their coconut-based washing base) and offer a physiological pH.
