This papaya enzyme-based powder (papain) transforms into a smooth cream on contact with water, to restore purity, freshness and radiance to the skin in record time.
Following research conducted on fruit enzymes by the brand, papain was judged to be the most effective in terms of natural exfoliation, combining properties of effectiveness, tolerance, purity and stability.
Papain’s biomimetic mechanism allows it to stimulate the natural desquamation process while respecting the skin barrier. However, its fragile and unstable nature means that it quickly loses its properties when in contact with water. This is why Sisley has integrated it into a powder texture to preserve its performance. It can thus provide gentle and physiological exfoliation (dead cells are naturally detached), acting on the bonds between the corneocytes, without causing friction (as with mechanical exfoliants), or having an acidic character (as with chemical exfoliants).
