The lip care segment is definitely not pouting its lips! After scrubs, here come masks, and they prove particularly useful in this period of the year, or if you tend to use matte lipsticks a little too much…
Goodbye to dry and chapped lips, hello soft and comfy mouths! In this period when lip sticks usually fall into disfavour with the consumer press due to the presence of mineral oils likely to be ingested in this face area, these advanced masks based on oils and vegetable extracts or butters represent a good alternative to repair dry or cracked lips.
They take on different forms:
• Cream textures to be applied in thick layers (Glamorous Camellia Mask For Lips by Erborian, 7 ml, €22)
• Bio-cellulose (Sephora Collection Bio-Cellulose Shea or Rose Lip Mask, €2.95 for one mask)
• ‘Mouth’ patches (Flashpatch Hydrating Lip Gels by Patchology, €11.95 for 5 patches, in Sephora stores)
• Tubes with applicator tips (Clinique Pep Start™ Pout Restoring Night Mask, €21) to be left on all night for nourished, plumped lips in the morning
Last minute: in June, it will be Kiehl’s’s turn to launch Buttermask Intense Repair Lip Treatment, an ultra-nourishing lip mask with coconut oils and mango butter (8 g, €25).
