Clarins Precious line honors a unique flower in the world: the Queen of the Night. Its bloom is as spectacular as it is rare (it blooms only once a year). Today, its power is revealed and captured by an exceptional technology.
Native to the hot and humid tropical forests of Central America, the Queen of the Night is a spectacular flowering cactus.
It is necessary to wait sometimes until twenty years to observe the blooming of its first flowers. From then on, its flower (up to 40 cm in diameter) blooms only one night in the year, giving off a powerful vanilla scent.
Moreover its Latin name Selenicereus grandiflorus would come from the name of the Greek goddess of the moon, Selene, in reference to the night blooming of flowers.
After years of research, Clarins ethnobotanists were able to decipher the secrets of this mysterious flower: exceptional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and an ability to reactivate the longevity of the skin at the very heart of its cells.
It is now in France that the Queen of the Night has put down roots. 6000 m² dedicated to a culture in the open ground, in the respect of the plant, at a controlled temperature of 3°C….
