Octamethyltrisiloxane (CAS No.107-51-7, EC No.203-497-4, INCI: Trisiloxane) is an ingredient listed in the CosIng with the functions: Antifoaminf, Skin conditioning.
The substance is not currently regulated by European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, nor does it have an entry in European CLP Regulation 1272/2008.

At the end of its assessment under CoRAP, Norway concluded that the substance was considered to meet the criteria for very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) substances and recommended restrictions in order to reduce as much as possible all emissions and environmental releases of the substance.

In its “Annex VI” report, Norway confirms that it considers the substance to be vPvB.
This identification as a SVHC is the subject of the consultation that ECHA opened on 30 August 2024, and which will close on 14 October.
