September 15 - The European Commission is “moving” cosmetic products
Europe used to associate them mainly with health issues, but things could change for cosmetic products. Last September 10, new European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker unveiled the composition of his team and its new organisation. Consequence: the Directorate-General for Health & Consumers (DG-SANCO) has “broken up”, and its units have been dispatched. As an example, SANCO B2 (on which cosmetic products depend) moves from the health directorate to the DG for Enterprise and Industry. September 1st - A corrigendum to regulation No 866/2014
On 8 August 2014, regulation No 866/2014 amended Annexes III (substances subject to restrictions), V (preservatives allowed) and VI (UV filters allowed). A Corrigendum has been published on August, 28. In Annex III, entries numbers 265 and 266 have been replaced by numbers 286 and 287.
