On June 16, 2015, CFDA (China Food and Drugs Administration) revised the final version of the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients in China. IECIC 2014 will be the only reference to identify whether an ingredient can be legally used in cosmetics manufactured in China or imported to China in the future.
In the new inventory:
• 9 new ingredients are added
• 111 plant ingredients have their product name changed
• 20 repeated plant ingredients are cancelled
• 1 plant ingredient is cancelled
• 6 sources of plant ingredients are indicated
As a consequence, there will be finally 8771 cosmetic ingredients allowed in China.
