On 29 August 2022, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published eight harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposals from Sweden. All of them concern fragrance ingredients, for classification as reprotoxic substances.
For these eight fragrance ingredients, Sweden suggests a classification as Reprotoxic category 1B. If the process is completed and this classification becomes effective, all these substances would be listed as CMRs, which are prohibited for use in cosmetic products in Europe unless exempted.
