The Cosmed General Assembly was held on June 20, in Paris. Under the stewardship of Jean-Marc Giroux, the association of the cosmetic industry moves on in its path to reorganizing, and established new governance.
The moral report by the President, and the Activity Report have fingered out the restructuring efforts of the Association performed in 2011:
• A better representativeness of the SMEs, with 620 members
• An improvement of the company's accounts, up by 13%
• New offices in different regions: Paris Île de France, Brittany, Rhône-Alps
• Twice as many people trained by Cosmed
• A recognition of the place of Cosmed and its experts in the European Commission
• A dramatic increase of the requests for Certificates of Free Sale (CFS)
• An overhaul of the joint buying organization, which will become efficient in 2012.
Regarding the governance, a new organizational chart of the teams has been detailed. A new function, Deputy Secretary-General, will be effective in September 2012, to strengthen the development. The elections of the Board of Directors have partially renewed the management team, with new prominent persons arriving from the cosmetic industry (Romain Batteur, Groupe Batteur CEO; François Bourrust, Solutech Consultant, and in command of the Regulatory Commission in Cosmed; François Bérodias, Manager of the Bougies et Senteurs [Candles and Fragrances] company; Sylvain Romain Cotte, CEO of SRC Consulting.)
