June, 25 - Avon to cut 600 jobs
Cosmetics maker Avon said it would cut about 600 jobs, including in its North America unit, as the company tries to return to profit. The job cuts and other restructuring efforts are expected to result in annual savings of about $50 million to $55 million.

June, 19 - L'Oreal to acquire NYX Cosmetics brand
French cosmetics L'Oréal group agreed to acquire NYX Cosmetics for an undisclosed price tag. " NYX is a dynamic company that has done a tremendous job of harnessing the power of social media, digital marketing and multi-channel distribution, " said Frédéric Rozé, President and CEO of L'Oréal USA. Following the closure of the deal, NYX Cosmetics will become part of L'Oréal's consumer products division.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added cadmium chloride, a phthalate and two boron substances to the Candidate List, which now contains 155 substances.
