First job: which companies do young graduates dream of?

Premier emploi : quelles entreprises font rêver les jeunes diplômés ?

As it does every year, Universum (a firm specializing in employer branding) publishes its ranking of companies targeted by marketing, engineering and IT students. Once again this year, L’Oréal features in the top 10 of future entrants to the world of communications and marketing.

172,000 young job-seekers (from all over the world) were interviewed for the study. While the Universum France top gave pride of place to beauty companies, this was not the case for the overall ranking.
Only L’Oréal appears at the top of the list (#8). Procter & Gamble (#30) and Johnson & Johnson (#33) are a distant second.

Although the 2023 edition of the “World’s Most Attractive Employers rankings” is not the best for beauty professionals, it is nonetheless rich in information about graduates’ expectations for a first job.

New entrants to the world of work expect significant salary gratification from the outset, and are keen to have a professional/personal balance. Since the pandemic, they are also attracted to hybrid organizations, which enable them to combine face-to-face work with telecommuting.
