Fleurance nature s'engage pour réduire l'impact environnemental du commerce en ligne

On 14 March, the French Ministry of Ecological Transition announced that 18 new companies have just signed the “Charter of commitments for the reduction of the environmental impact of online trade”, including commitments related to consumer information, packaging, warehouses and delivery. Among them, Fleurance Nature, which is the first cosmetic company to do so.

The “Charter of commitments for the reduction of the environmental impact of e-commerce” was drawn up in the wake of the Covid health crisis and the successive confinements which highlighted the growing importance of e-commerce and reinforced the importance of eco-responsible development of e-commerce logistics activities.

The signatory companies undertake to respect the ten concrete commitments that structure this charter, divided into three pillars that make it possible to reduce the environmental impact from the act of buying online to the delivery of the package.
• Upstream, companies undertake to raise consumers’ awareness and inform them of the environmental impact of the delivery of their purchase, for example by offering them several delivery methods (from 1 January 2023), by specifying the choice that has the lowest environmental impact, or by helping them to promote the right ordering gestures to limit returns.
• When preparing the shipment of parcels, they are encouraged to reduce and re-use packaging, for example by eliminating over-packaging and using packaging adapted to the size of the product, but also by favouring packaging made of recycled, recyclable or reusable materials.
