After the parent company and the various international subsidiaries, it’s now the turn of the French branch to announce that it is filing for bankruptcy. The request was made by the new manager of The Body Shop France, Martin Rivers, to the Paris Commercial Court.
A hard blow for the 266 employees of The Body Shop France. The announcement was made on Tuesday March 19, 2024. Their wages will be paid by the French wage guarantee scheme (AGS).
According to LSA, Martin Rivers is considering whether to place the company in receivership or liquidation. For the time being, the future of the 66 stores is not yet known. Those whose commercial leases are about to expire are expected to close shortly.
According to LSA, the stores had already been out of stock for several weeks.
