The Body Shop wants to give young people a voice

The Body Shop veut donner la parole aux jeunes

The English brand has just announced that a group of young citizens has joined its board of directors. This decision is explained by The Body Shop’s strong desire to give everyone, and therefore the supposedly less experienced generations, the opportunity to make their opinions heard.

“The world is in crisis and we believe that young people are part of the solution. More than 40% of the world’s population is under 25, but only 2.8% of the world’s parliamentarians are under 30. So where are the voices of young people in today’s major decisions in politics, business and society? Young people will inherit the consequences of today’s decisions, but they are silenced in public life,” says The Body Shop. “This year, we want to give young people a space where their voices can be heard by the decision makers in our company. We are bringing young people into our board of directors and into our brand.”

In concrete terms, this Youth Collective will be made up of a group of people under 30 from The Body Shop and other B-Corp organizations, who will be consulted by the brand’s executive team on decisions affecting the company. “This will give us a fresh look at how we work.”
