From June 16-18, in the heart of the Marais in Paris, haute perfume and cosmetics marks will gather for the exhibition Alternative, to present a futurist and international vision of modern beauty.

DEBATES, CONFERENCES, CREATIVE WORKSHOPS… A CONCENTRATION OF EXPERTISE

As the numbers from 2015 indicate a record year for French exports of cosmetics and perfumes, valuing €11.8 billion (4.4% growth from 2014, with skincare and perfume representing 75.5% of products, according to FEBEA, March 2016), the sector is rapidly evolving with new arrivals that reinvent trade, products and how they are used. The issues have never been so important. Exhibitors, exports, institutions and visitors will be able to debate these current subjects in an inspiring and reflexive space afforded by the new event Alternative.

This year, the emphasis will be on distribution and olfactory creation within a series of conferences and roundtables, conducted by industry professionals. Distribution, as everyone knows, has become a major issue for all brands. Today, more than 75% of distribution is provided by specialized supply chains.

However, alternatives are being developed: brands creating their own boutique store, beauty house, concept stores, pharmacies… in these avenues, customers advise and product expertise are the key advantages.

This meeting with the public, on June 18th, will allow exhibitors to directly test their brand, to be right next to the final user. This experience will be the chance for each one to best translate the values of their brand, and to live a real live experiment.
For visitors, a program at once educational and close to the "artisans" that conduct it, will be offered with the projection of an excerpt of the film "l’Odorat", followed by a debate with the filmakers, as well as the creation of a scent as told by the famous perfumer Céline Ellena, or a derma-pharmacological conference, or a novel perfumed concert, the intervention of My Little Paris, the History of young brands by CEW.
