Targeted consultations for CLH proposals are launched in case further information is needed on a particular hazard class, or if comments are sought on e.g. a specific additional document. They do not replace a normal consultation on CLH proposals but information that is collected is taken into account in the preparation for the opinion of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC).
As these consultations are targeted, the length of the commenting period is shorter than the usual consultation on a CLH proposal.

The proposal for the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of silver (EC: 231-131-3; CAS: 7440-22-4) was submitted by Sweden and was subject to a consultation, which ended on 18/12/2020.
As a reminder, Sweden has proposed to classify Silver as:

• Muta. 2, H341 - Suspected of causing genetic defects
• Repr. 1B, H360FD - May damage fertility. May damage the unborn child
• Aquatic Acute 1, H400 - Very toxic to aquatic life, M-factor=10 (for silver)
• Aquatic Acute 1, H400 - Very toxic to aquatic life, M-factor=1000 (for nano silver) …
