On 18 December 2024, ECHA (European Chemicals Agenncy) announced the publication of its proposal for an updated Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP). This list includes 28 substances of concern to be assessed by Member States under the REACH Regulation in 2025, 2026, and 2027. Among them, six can be used in cosmetics. The final plan will be adopted in March 2025.
This draft CoRAP contains 31 substances, including 13 ew substances compared to the CoRAP 2024-2026.
8 substances are being planned for evaluation in 2025 (including two groups of two substances), 15 in 2026 and 5 in 2027.
ECHA is also proposing to remove three substances from the current list as substance evaluation has been considered currently of low priority or unnecessary. Two of these substances may be used in cosmetics.
The draft plan has been submitted on 28 November 2024 to the Member State Competent Authorities and the ECHA Member State Committee. The Committee is expected to give its opinion in February 2025. On the basis of the Committee’s opinion ECHA aims to adopt and publish the CoRAP update for 2025-2026 on 25 March 2025.
