Tetrahydrofurfuryl Methacrylate (CAS: 2455-24-5 ; CE: 219-529-5) is a film-forming listed in the CosIng.
Currently, it is not regulated by Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 and is not listed in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation.

Austria proposes to classify the substance as:
• Repr. 1B, H360FD - May damage fertility - May damage the unborn child.
• Skin Sens. 1A, H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction
• Pictograms: GHS08, GHS07.
• Warning statement: Dgr (Danger).

A classification as CMR1B could ultimately threaten the use of the substance in cosmetic products.
The ECHA consultation is open until 15 August 2022.
