On this 1st january 2025, the new restrictions on the UV filter Homosalate set out in Regulation (EU) 2022/2195 come into force. They apply to all new products placed on the market.
Published on 11 November 2022, Regulation (EU) 2022/2195 amended entry 3 of Annex VI (UV filter) of European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. It lays down new conditions of use for Homosalate.
From this 1st January 2025, lnew products placed on the European Union market must therefore comply with the following requirements.
The same provisions will apply to products made available on the market from 1st July 2025.

It is the responsibility of manufacturers and Responsible Persons to take all appropriate measures to comply with these provisions.
Products already on the market that do not comply with these new restrictions must be withdrawn 1st July 2025.
