DIY, does that mean anything to you?

A recent article in L'Obs magazine recently began:"I no longer buy day cream. I make it myself, it's like mayonnaise! This was followed by a description of the ingredients and the manufacturing process. Pure DIY sugar!

It means"Do It Yourself", one of the many anglicisms that flood us. If the term is new, the approach is less so: it corresponds to this already old tendency which consists in formulating, designing or manufacturing its products oneself. This new term at least has the advantage of making us talk about this issue again.

It was held in Paris in November the DIY show (Salon du savoir-faire - Porte de Versailles) where many examples of self realization were proposed. The central theme was at Upcylcing. For those who don't know it, the concept is simple: it is enough to recover old objects and offer them a second life. It seems that this practice has not yet reached the world of cosmetics, but many other examples of self-made products are now available.

Many articles have taken up this notion of personalization in recent months, indicating that it is a rather heavy movement, whatever the country, and that we see a multitude of developments in this field. This trend towards customization via DIY is mainly driven by young consumers who are familiar with Web technologies. There are currently no signs of a slowdown.
