Two companies from the French cosmetics sector, Gattefossé (supplier of natural cosmetic ingredients) and SurfactGreen (specialised in plant-based surfactants) are among the 15 finalists of the INPI 2022 Trophies. They are competing to embody French innovation and the exemplary use of industrial property in their development strategy.
Created in 1991, the INPI Trophies reward companies that are emblematic of French innovation and stand out for their exemplary industrial property strategy. They also highlight the ability of companies to manage their intangible assets and to take advantage of them in their development strategy (turnover, jobs, new products, export activity, partnerships, fund raising, etc.).
15 SMEs and start-ups are in the running to embody French innovation. They are competing in the following five categories:
• Export
• Industry
• Responsible innovation
• Partnership research
• Start-up
The companies are first of all contacted by the INPI’s business managers, who are present in each of the French regions to assist them in their industrial property procedures.
They then fill in a file, and an internal jury chooses three companies for each category.
In a second phase, a jury of about fifteen innovation experts selects a winner in each category.
Two actors of the cosmetics sector are thus in the running this year, in two different categories.
