Following the Pierre Fabre passing away, on 20 July 2013, Laboratoires Pierre Fabre has announced, on the first of August, the setting up of a new governance, “remaining true to the wishes of the Founder to ensure the permanence and the independence of the Group.”

Mr. Pierre-Yves Revol has been appointed as Chairman of Pierre Fabre Participations by its Committee of Wise People. As a reminder, Pierre Fabre Participations is the controlling shareholder of Pierre Fabre SA. Its duty is to validate and to check the implementation of the Group’s strategy; further, it chooses the members of the administrative bodies, and the managers of Pierre Fabre SA and of its subsidiaries, while looking at the compliance with the continuity mission enacted by Mr. Pierre Fabre, i.e., especially:
• to preserve the independence of the Group,
• to maintain the presence of the Group in its region of origin,
• to invest significant sums in the Research and Development departments,
• to think "long-term" more than looking for short-term financial results,
• to keep the dual nature of the activities “Medicines” and “Dermo-cosmetic”,
• to allow the Pierre Fabre Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation endorsed by the authorities, to carry out its tasks with the relevant means.
