Pierre Fabre Group bets on solar energy

Pierre Fabre Laboratories, specialists in pharmaceuticals and dermocosmetics, have announced the commissioning of a new photovoltaic panel installation at their industrial site in Soual (Tarne). The aim of the project is to support the company’s energy self-production strategy and help reduce its carbon footprint by 46%.

Having already installed solar panels at several of its sites, the Group is now turning its attention to its largest plant. At Soual, the installation involves the installation of 5,500 solar panels covering a surface area of 12,000 m2. 57% of the panels will be installed on shaded roofs over the site’s car parks, and 43% on ground-mounted installations.

“The various photovoltaic installations on the Pierre Fabre Laboratories sites now cover a surface area of 17,400 m2. The Pierre Fabre Innovation Centre on the Oncopole campus in Toulouse and the Chartreuse Campus in Castres, the company’s future headquarters due to open in the summer of 2025, will be the next sites to be equipped with solar panels,” explains the company. In addition, from 2025, the Soual plant will run on biogas rather than natural gas.

“The solarisation of our sites is part of a global approach aimed at anticipating our energy needs to enable more responsible growth.
