Borealine Aurora is the latest Lucas Meyer Cosmetics asset, inspired by the Aurora Borealis, which illuminates the boreal sky. Made from white pine, obtained by upcycling bark unused by the Canadian wood industry, it acts on three skin tone parameters to improve skin tone evenness, luminosity and radiance.
The white pine, “King of the forest”, is known to be the symbol of peace and unity, in constant search of light.
The bark used by Lucas Meyer Cosmetics is a by-product of the wood industry and is considered waste. However, white pine bark contains the highest concentration of bioactive molecules, as the tree naturally synthesises these molecules as part of its own self-defence mechanism. The extraction of bioactive molecules takes place just after the first transformation of the wood (timber production) and before the bark is recycled into green energy or compost.
Three actions on the appearance of the complexion
Skin complexion and luminosity results from various parameters related to pigmentation, inflammation and translucency. Thanks to its unique composition of polyphenols, Borealine Aurora acts on several factors:
• It reduces melanin synthesis by a direct and indirect action (cell-to-cell communication) on melanogenesis
• It reduces skin inflammation
• It protects proteins from carbonylation
It thus has a simultaneous action on three key parameters:
• It reduces the appearance of skin redness and yellowness
• It improves the skin’s translucency and increases the uniformity of the complexion for greater luminosity
• It gives the skin a radiant and glowing appearance …
