On 16 October 2024, Great Britain notified a draft text introducing restrictions on the use of Methyl Salicylate in cosmetic products. A 60-day consultation has been opened.
This future regulation was initiated following the classification of Methyl Salicylate as Repr. 2, which gave it CMR status.
The text provides for the addition of the following entry at the end of Annex III (Restricted Substances) of the Cosmetics Regulation as it applies in England, Wales and Scotland.
