Created by Tanal Ghandour, Scent of Africa is a young African perfume house. For the launch of its first juices, the brand entrusted the design and decoration of its bottles to the Italian glassmaker.
Tanal Ghandour’s ambition is great. “I wanted to honor Africa and its peoples, the generosity of a continent and the strong sense of belonging of its inhabitants,” he says.
Faced with such expectations, Bormilio Luigi explains that they “placed his experience of exceptional projects and his industrial expertise at the service of a particularly demanding challenge. The bottle, initially developed in 50 ml, is the fruit of a specific design. The multi-hued decors, some of which are silver, opaque or transparent, are exterior lacquers revealing subtle gradations. They are combined with hot stamping, whose pearlescent or shiny effects distinguish the feminine or masculine fragrances. One of the challenges was to match the colors of the bottle and cap. Applying hot stamping to such a conical shape was also a challenge. The cap evokes the contours of Africa.”
Scent of Africa has announced plans to expand into Europe and the USA in 2025, when it launches its second range.
