The use of AI is beginning to be democratized in many industries. To help professionals make the most of this new technology, Mintel organized a morning of conferences on June 6, 2024 in Paris. Clotilde Drapé, Global Analyst at the foresight firm, explained how AI can be used by cosmetics players.
Artificial intelligence is going to have a real impact on the skincare industry. We can expect more and more brands to invest in it,“ comments the expert. “However, many households are not yet aware of this subject. Generally speaking, women tend to think they don’t understand much about AI. In fact, it’s men who talk about it the most on social networks.”
According to Clotilde Drapé, the use of AI has to be relevant and in line with consumer expectations.

Artificial intelligence is still in its infancy. It is therefore difficult to predict how far this tool will go. Nevertheless, Clotilde Drapé draws attention to the “responsibility of brands to convey unreal standards. It’s important to position ourselves as guardians and not contribute to the promotion of an anxiety-inducing beauty that can lead consumers to develop physical complexes.”
