The effort aims to train and empower 300 families in the Amazon region, foster the sustainable extraction of local raw materials, and promote their use in the manufacture of cosmetics marketed internationally.

The program is expected to last at least two years and to benefit over 300 families in 24 cities by operating in three different fields of expertise: organization & management, manufacturing & organic certification and marketing. All stages of the manufacturing process will be carefully monitored and assessed.

GIZ will be responsible for providing training in business management and collaborative business solutions, thus contributing to the communities’ structural and financial organization. Beraca will be in charge of developing the communities’ technical and productive. L'Oréal will contribute with investments in infrastructure and safety equipment that will result in better working conditions for the communities involved. By using part of the raw materials produced locally in its cosmetics, L’Oréal will also help promote the initiative internationally and foster the use of these raw materials by other markets.
