Citeo supports "cosmetic" reuse projects

Citeo soutient les projets "cosmétiques" de réemploi

In January 2023, Citeo announced it was setting up the “EncoRE plus de réemploi” program. The aim was to provide financial support to companies (from all sectors, including cosmetics) wishing to offer reusable packaging. 144 applications were accepted, some of which concerned the beauty sector.

“For its first edition, the”EncoRE plus de réemploi” call for projects met with notable success. Of the 50 million euros earmarked for 2023, 35 have been allocated (the remainder being carried over to 2024). The 144 winning ideas are a perfect representation of the diversity of reuse in France,“ explains Citeo. “While the majority of projects come from the beverage and food sectors, the non-food sector is also well represented.”

Beauty industry initiatives

The following is a list and description of projects by cosmetics players who have received support from the “EncoRE plus de réemploi” program.

Clarins
This project involves setting up a fleet of reusable packaging (glass jar with cap and cup) and modifying the packaging line to switch from non-reusable packaging to a refillable pack for one range.

Hyteck Aromazone
The project involves carrying out a life-cycle analysis to compare several materials and their different uses where appropriate (single use and/or reusable with a refill). The aim is to determine which packaging has the lowest environmental impact when reused.

Pharma-Recharge
Laboratoires Expanscience, Garancia, La Rosée Cosmétique, Bioderma and Pierre Fabre are offering a shared cabinet in pharmacies, providing 15 self-service refillable daily hygiene products in a common …
