While prices are rising, there is a decline in purchasing power. And when budgets are tight, many consumers find themselves making trade-offs. My Beauty Daily by Clarins asked 2,000 British women which beauty products they were willing to give up in this economic crisis.
According to the survey, one out of four British people would be forced to reduce their purchases of beauty products. This concerns one in three women and 15% of men.

• Perfumes
• Facial scrubs
• Toners
• Serums
• Eye creams
• Facial cleansers
• Primers
• Body scrubs
• Lip balms
According to My Beauty Daily, these products are considered a luxury by the panelists. On the other hand, 83% say they couldn’t do without their moisturizers.
And if they are ready to lighten their skincare routine, it is less likely for them to stop wearing makeup. “Only 12% said they would make sure to buy cheaper alternatives to their usual products. Brits value makeup more than skincare if they are forced to save money.”
And when it comes to professional services, they would have no problem stopping going to the hairdresser or salon for a manicure. It would seem that habits formed during the health crisis are still in place…
