SBTI validates Groupe Rocher's carbon plan

La SBTI valide le plan carbone du Groupe Rocher

The company, which has been committed to tackling the environmental crisis for several years, wants to reduce its carbon emissions. The group has just announced that its plan in this area is supported by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTI), a climate action organisation that independently defines, promotes and assesses industry targets to achieve net zero by 2050.

Groupe Rocher wants to achieve carbon sobriety and has already reduced its CO2 emissions by 43% over the last five years.
To continue its efforts, the company has committed to a plan to decarbonise its value chain, validated by the SBTI.
The objective for 2030 is to reduce its carbon emissions by 42% for scopes 1 and 2 and by 25% for scope 3, compared with 2022 levels.

“I am particularly proud to see our ambitious carbon reduction trajectory approved by SBTI. This validation confirms the relevance of our vision to guarantee sustainable development for our structure and our brands. We have opted for carbon sobriety, and to exclude compensation systems, which go against scientific consensus and do not encourage companies to change their business models,” said Marie Marache, Mission & Impact Director at Groupe Rocher.

To achieve its objectives, the company is working to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, increase its use of renewable energy, reduce its consumption of plastics and better manage the transport of its goods.
