Summer beauty… in three corners of the world!

It is not an unknown fact that lifestyles vary from one country to another. It is true for food, work hours, life hygiene… and cosmetics routines! Last May 19, 2015, Birchbox unveiled the results of a study conducted in three different countries on women’s beauty habits in summer. Hair removal, sun protection, blow-dry: French, English, and American women do everything differently!

Beauty on the beach

The brand first focused on depilation, and observed 45% of the French preferred to have a smooth, soft body with no hair. Complete hair removal is less popular with English or American women, 30 and 37% of whom respectively stated they adopted this practice.
In the United States, they tend to prefer naturalness rather than spending hours in beauty salons or their bathrooms to have every single hair removed. 25% of women are favourable to this practice, compared to 19% in England, and only 1% in France!
Brazilian hair removal is the second favourite practice in France, with 33%, compared to half this figure in England – 15% – and 14% in the US.
Lastly, good old traditional depilation appeals to 35% of women across the Channel, 24% in the US, and 21% in France.

As for how they do it, French women indicate they prefer wax by far, with 52% of users, ahead of shaving, 34%, and laser ranks last, with only 14% of women seduced.
