Celebrating the strengths and successes of women in the global cosmetics industry on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, Traackr’s influential marketing platform has identified the most influential French beauty brands founded by women in the sector. An opportunity to salute the women entrepreneurs who sometimes hide behind the success of some of the best-known beauty brands.

In France, 39% of women are entrepreneurs and the country is experiencing a new generation of women who are innovating in the cosmetics sector by meeting consumers’ environmental expectations. New trends such as organic or clean beauty are becoming a watchword and are becoming unavoidable. Organic cosmetics, which didn’t exist 20 years ago, were worth 757 million euros in 2018.
Using global data analysing the number of activated influencers, mentions and engagement rates in 2019, brand rankings are also determined by comparing each brand’s respective Brand Vitality Score (VIT), Traackr’s proprietary metric for measuring the performance of an influencer’s content on a brand, taking into account the visibility, impact and confidence of an influencer’s post.
In this list, we notice that French entrepreneurs are working hard to create responsible brands and products, which are almost all rather young with strong values of natural well-being.

1. Nuxe
Nuxe comes in first position by its VIT score, but it is also the brand most mentioned by influencers. Founded by Aliza Jabès, Nuxe is a pioneering brand in natural origin cosmetology and has become in less than thirty years a global group, present in nearly 60 countries.
