After having been abandoned at the bottom of the drawers at the height of the health crisis, makeup is back in the spotlight. Yes, but consumers have new desires. Euromonitor has targeted several areas for development.

A simplification of routines
Despite a return to normalcy, not all consumers use makeup as much as before.
Fifty-six percent say they have adopted a simpler, lighter routine. “However, there is a small increase in the number of users at the end of the year,” explains Euromonitor. “However, we can see that they are looking for versatile products and want to spend less time preparing.”

A desire for results
The public is no longer just looking for a one-time beauty boost, but for long-term benefits.
Consumers are looking for products that are:
• Moisturizing
• Adapted to sensitive skin
• Formulated with SPF
• Formulated with vitamins
• Anti-aging
• Preventing wrinkle

Ever more sustainability
Eco-responsibility in cosmetics is no longer a trend, but a prerequisite.
In fact, consumers are demanding transparency from brands and want makeup to be formulated with natural and ethically sourced ingredients. Moreover, they are attentive to the recyclability of packaging.
