Nail art products… You may have them in your cupboards. Maybe, you use them, still. Beware: they are dangerous, illegal, harmful… and are the subject of a recall or ban by the European sanitary authorities. Danger : The product is made of methyl methacrylate (100%), which has a high sensitisation/allergenic potential and can result in damages to nails and/or hands which can last for years. The BfR [German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment] in its Opinion No 014/2012 of 22 December 2011  classifies concentrations of 80- 90 % methyl methacrylate in nail art substances as hazardous to health.

Measures adopted: Withdrawal of the product from the market.

The BfR [German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment] in its Opinion No 014/2012 of 22 December  2011 classifies concentrations of 80- 90 % methyl methacrylate in nail art substances as hazardous to health.
In addition the product labelling does not comply with the mentioned Cosmetic Product Regulation.

Measures adopted: Withdrawal of the product from the market.
