17 June 2010 The press release is very brief. He simply announces:"The laboratory shall proceed, in agreement with the the withdrawal of lot 518 L per 10/2011 of the cosmetic product known as ZNP pain dermatological because of its zinc pyrithione content, which does not comply with the legislation in force. The lab says they've received no reports of any side effects associated with this product."

It was added that the A preservative with antibacterial and antifungal activity is mainly present in cosmetics for its antidandruff and anti-seborrheic properties. It is endowed with a strong irritant character for the skin and the eyes, would have a notable sensitizing potential. We also wonder about its toxicity, animal experiments having revealed a teratogenic effect (causing malformations of the embryo) and reprotoxic. It is therefore subject to restrictions, in particular in terms of maximum permitted concentrations, in cosmetics in Europe.
