A scent of black pepper

Black pepper is insanely elegant and totally no gender. If we are familiar with its spicy and pungent scent that tickles the nose, we tend to forget its fresh and aromatic facets, exhilarating! This autumn takes care to remind us of them…

First of all, a little clarification: we are not talking about pink pepper, a false pepper also called pink berries.
In perfumery, only the fruits of the black pepper tree (Pipper nigrum), which give green, white, red or black pepper, are entitled to the name of pepper.
The black pepper this fall comes mainly from Madagascar (but also from India and the Philippines).

This is the case of the latest and magnificent creation of Serge Lutens who gives it the leading role: Poivre Noir (eau de parfum, 50 ml, €120 or 100 ml, €180), where, surrounded by cedar wood and nutmeg, it offers a powerful and comforting trail.

Obvious (a clean, eco-responsible and vegan perfume brand), also plays it in majesty in Un Poivre (eau de parfum, 100 ml, €110.93) where it brings its dry and spicy side to caraway seeds, violet leaf and warm amyris woods.

It is also found in Eau de Parfum 602 Poivre, Cèdre, Patchouli de Bon Parfumeur (eau de parfum, 100 ml, €99) which reveals in the heart black pepper from Madagascar, accompanied by incense from Somalia, patchouli and cedar.

It further spices up the two orientals, Te Dire Oui. V.H. by Maison …
