J.U.S Parfums has made upcycling part of its DNA: reuse of old bottle moulds, refillable perfumes, second-hand furniture for its corners… Today, the brand is transforming its perfume bottles that have been discarded due to defects, by creating a magnificent terrazzo candlestick (each piece is unique). It’s an idea that’s as luminous as it is ecological!
J.U.S (Joyau Unique & Sensoriel), which has been particularly committed to upcycling since its creation, has found a way to make the most of its unused perfume bottles, which are deemed to be imperfect (impurities in the glass, lack of shine in the lacquering, insufficient shine, etc.), by creating a terrazzo candleholder (€240).
In partnership with Léandre Carbonneaux, a craftsman from Aveyron who has mastered this technique to perfection, each piece is unique and handcrafted from three perfume bottles taken from production wastes.
The bottles are broken with precision, their shards giving a thousand reflections to a delightful candlestick with pure lines and richly coloured inclusions.
Ecological in concept, terrazzo dates back to the 16th century. The material was devised by Venetian workers who reused fragments of marble salvaged from their cuttings, and placed them side by side in a clay mortar base.
A beautiful new life that enhances the J.U.S candle collection!
