Say goodbye to 2015 (and for some years we've been in a better hurry to leave than others…) in style with fine gold gilt make-up. Gold, this"chestnut" cosmetic from the Christmas collections, is softened,"pasted". What's new? Less bling-bling, more elegant and subtle, it also becomes much more portable. So you can switch to winter gold, even outside the holiday season..;
This year, make-up gives pride of place to gold (one year out of two is silver)! After the"golden current" in the treatment, here is the 100% gold make-up… But, more discreet, it is adorned with inflections of pink gold or hot saffron gold, copper or golden bite. The variations around gold embody a new idea of luxury: shimmering and luminous, yet hushed, nuanced, almost secret. The idea is to offer warm touches of light and not flashy gold. "A little sun in cold water"… so that beauty radiates and illuminates the winter darkness. With a real trend in the look: black mixed with gold.
Reflections in an eye of gold
What's new in pallets? Lamée eye shadows are mixed with dark or smoky colours (black, anthracite grey, dark brown, dark plum, black red…). The idea is simple, we superimpose the gold shadow on the darker shadows for a precious and sparkling look. And the most prestigious make-up brands all offer it.
The most spectacular? Surely La Messe des Ors by Serge Lutens (Palette n° 4, 130 €) which includes four glittery grey, sand, copper and gold eyeshadows.
It is also the bias of L'Oréal Paris (Color Riche Les Ombres Black Gold, 14 € - Collection Extravaganza Noël 2015), or Bourjois and its Smoky Stories Palettes (collection Night Lights in Paris - Look Noël 2015). The 09 Grey-zy in Love also mixes grey with light gold and the 10 Welcome Black night blue and ultra-matt black with gold bite and gold (14,50 € each).
Same fight for the 4 Eyeshadow Powder Chanel's special sign (52 €, Collection Rouge Noir Absolument Noël 2015), which is articulated around a deep black red and a warm saffron gold.
The Eye Palette 4 Colours N°10 Baroque Harmony de Sothys (39 €) is declined around brown, taupe, sand gold, pink.
The Palette Ors et Merveilles by Guerlain (77 €, limited edition Christmas 2015), combines the essentials of sophisticated eye and cheek make-up on two levels. Upstairs, five shades of finely iridescent eye shadows around champagne, brown and gold, twisted by a plum and a rose for an iridescent make-up result. Below, four pink blushs in shades, matt or pearly, to play in duet to revive the cheekbones à la carte, according to desires.
The 5 Colour Eye Palette 02 Pretty Night by Clarins (46,90 €) combines brown (dark brown, purple brown taupe) with golden and bronze.
This is still the case with Bobbi Brown and his Sequin Eyeshadow (35 €). Moon Rock is a glittery copper marbled black and Constellation a marbled brown glittery copper.
Black/blue look still with the Christmas Collection 2015 from Dolce&Gabbana : Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colour Antique Gold 117 (29,90€).
La Palette Regard Couture 5 Collector Colors 576 Eternal Gold by Dior (59 €, limited edition Christmas 2015) is an original harmony between dull tones and flamboyant shades (gold, pink, khaki, dark plum).
As for the mono gold shadows, there too, they warm up with flattering copper shades (Ombre Hypnôse Dazzling 450 Copper Dream by Lancôme, 30 €; Magic Smoky Powdered pencil eye shadow Scorched Gold d'Estée Lauder, 23,50 €).
Another gesture in the air of the time, the gold or bronze eyeliner: Master Ink Celebrate Glitter Gemey-Maybelline (7,50 €) ; Art Liner 09 Bronze Silversmith Lancôme (32 €) ; Liner Vinyl eyeliner brush N°4 Iced bronze Givenchy (32 €) ; Eyeliner Liquid Superslick Pure Show bright gold M.A.C Cosmetics Disko Collection (18€).
Lashes "butterflies" of golden shards…
Here, the novelty is that : - or black mascara is tinted gold, like Gemey-Maybelline's (Cils Sensational Celebrate, €9.90). In this case, you can use it alone and its black gold pigments make the lashes shimmer..; - or we have to deal with top coat mascaras that we put on the tip of the lashes after having applied his black mascara, to add a magnetic glare to the look : Top Coat Glitter Glitter Millions de Cils L'Oréal Paris, 15,50 € ; Hypnôse Golden Top Coat Lancôme Mascara, a light and transparent formula enriched with millions of gold particles, 32 € ; Sparkling Lashes Mascara iridescent gel Chanel, 31,50 €. The latter is a platinum bronze mascara with iridescent reflections that catches the light.
Sparkling complexion
Infused with gold, the skin dresses in warm reflections as if it had (slightly) taken the sun. After the"golden light" foundations with a rejuvenating effect (Parure Gold Fluid Foundation by Guerlain, 30 ml, 75 €), the illuminating powders take the lion's share.
With a real vintage retro look for Bourjois (Souvenir de la Poudre de Riz de Java Glitter waltz for the ladies 12,95 €, collection Night Lights in Paris - Look Noël 2015).
Completely luxurious for Dior with its herringbone pattern and ultra-fine pearly texture, which sublimates the skin texture in transparency (Diorific State of Gold Compact Lumière d'Or Powder, 72 €, two shades: 001 Luxurious Beige, a golden beige or 002 Sumptuous Pink, an iridescent pink - limited editions Christmas 2015).
Delicately iridescent for Lancôme (Poudre de Lumière, €50), or sparkling for Monoprix Make-Up (universal iridescent powder, €8.99).
One also sees appearing blushs illuminators beige peach like the Cheeks Contrast Light 12 Midnight Strikes by Chanel (40 € - Collection Rouge Noir Absolument Noël 2015). Or the DiorBlush Pink Sublime by Dior (45 € - limited edition Christmas 2015).
The golden touch on the lips
This is the least exploited segment. This winter, the focus is more on the eye.
But here and there you can still find moiré lacquers associated with intense velvet matte reds (Gold Jewel Lip Kiss by Terry Collection Gold Gotha, palette of ten lip shadows, 98 €), a slightly golden glitter balm (Sothys soft red 150 shade, 23 €). Or really golden glosses (The Lipgloss Sheer Shine Gloss shade Gold 160 Dolce&Gabbana, €28.50 or Shine Lipstick Gold 70 Dolce&Gabbana, 35 €).
The laminated top-coat for nails and"gold leaf" varnishes (impossible to escape!) are not left out… To see in a next Zoom!
