The sunny days clearly bring their share of challenges for the hair, making it even more important to take care of it than usual.

According to Lazartigue, the scalp, a highly sensitive area, is just as prone to sunburn as our skin.

UVA rays penetrate the cuticle and cortex, producing free radicals that damage keratin. Color-treated hair loses its shine and color fades more quickly.
UVB rays also attack the cuticle, further damaging keratin. The hair fiber becomes porous, increasing its fragility and leading to dryness and breakage. While the sun is undoubtedly the most dangerous factor, it alone does not explain the deterioration in hair quality and damage to the scalp. In fact, salt, sand, chlorine and wind play an active role in this phenomenon, adding to the damaging effects of the sun.
