The French DGCCRF (General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs, and Fraud Control) published a notice on th recall of an Aloe Vera Gel, marketed by the brand Agovie. It has a too high content in Methylisothiazolinone.

Reasons for the recall
Risk for the health because the product contains a substance (methylisothiazolinone) in too high content, and is designed to be used in direct contact with the skin.
Note: the European regulation 2016/1198 of 22 July 2016 bans Methylisothiazolinone in leave-on cosmetic products from 12 February 2017. A measure taken because of the very strong allergenic potential of this preservative.

Measures adopted
Recall of the product. The professional asks consumers to stop using the product and to bring it back to the store for repayment.
