September, 9 - Triman postponed for a year
It was to be displayed on labels as of 1 January 2014. The Triman logo, designed to harmonize the recycling markings of the different products placed on the market, and to provide consumers with sorting instructions, will be mandatory only as of 1 January 2015. This is called for by the bill of authorization for the Simplification and Security of businesses’ life, presented to the French Cabinet on 4 September, stipulates that “the (French) government suggests adapting the implementation date of this provision in order to allow manufacturers the time needed to be ready. The 1 January 2015, called for in this same article to harmonise the sorting instructions, has, therefore, been set.”

September, 5 - Deadline extended for comments of the SCCS Opinions on nanos
Three nano-ingredients (titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol) have been evaluated by the SCCS, which released its Opinions about them on July 26. The deadline for comments, originally set on September 6, has been postponed until 18 September.
