As part of its partnership with CosmeticOBS, Business France announces that in a notice addressed to economic operators dated 21 April 2020, the Ministry of Trade informs all economic operators that the interministerial order of 21 October 2019 on technical regulations setting the microbiological criteria for cosmetic and personal hygiene products, issued in application of the provisions of Article 28 of Executive Decree No. 05-464 of 6 December 2005 on the organization and functioning of standardization, has been published in the Official Gazette of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria No. 16 of 24 March 2020.
The objectives of this new regulatory framework are to strengthen the legal framework for product safety and consumer protection and to put in place regulations in line with international standards and regulations.
Main provisions of the text:
• The clear and precise definition of the concepts used
• The determination of microbiological limits for cosmetic and personal hygiene products
• The determination of the methods used for the interpretation of the results of microbiological analyses of cosmetic and personal hygiene products
This text has two annexes:
• Microbiological criteria for cosmetic and personal hygiene products
• The procedure for taking tests and interpreting the results of microbiological analyses.
