French presidential elections: the FEBEA submits 22 proposals for the cosmetics sector

Within the framework of the 2022 presidential election, the FEBEA (French Federation of Beauty Companies) has developed 22 proposals to make the French cosmetics sector the world leader in sustainable cosmetics. These proposals are based on four main areas: industrial recovery and competitiveness of cosmetic companies, ecological transition, consumer protection, employment and skills development. Emmanuel Guichard, General Delegate of the Federation, presented these proposals in more detail at a press conference on 16 March 2022.

“The cosmetics industry is one of the major actors of our economy, in France and in the world: third contributor to the positive balance of foreign trade, it currently achieves a turnover of 24 billion euros,” introduces Emmanuel Guichard, General Delegate of the FEBEA, in the editorial of the document entitled “Presidential election 2022 - With cosmetics companies, let’s make the French brand shine”.
“On our territory, the cosmetics industry employs 246,600 people, including 164,000 direct jobs. And with 82% of SMEs, we are an essential engine of the vitality of the national economic network.
The coming years will be decisive to further anchor this strategic dimension of the cosmetics sector for our country: with the support of public decision-makers, we want to make our industry the world leader in sustainable cosmetics.”

To do so, the FEBEA stresses that the industry needs to be supported to make new commitments.
And it is in this context that it has defined four thematic axes and elaborated 22 proposals that it considers essential to make the French cosmetics sector the spearhead of a more efficient and sustainable “Made in France”.
