Pantene commits to inclusiveness at work in Canada

Pantene s'engage en faveur de l'inclusivité au travail au Canada

At a time when gender issues are at the forefront of the debate, many 2SLGBTQ+ (two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) people are shy about embracing their identity in the workplace. That’s why hair brand Pantene, in partnership with two associations, has launched a campaign to raise awareness about inclusivity in the workplace.

According to a study, half of 2SLGBTQ+ Canadians feel the need to hide their identity at work. In response, Pantene partnered with Pride at Work Canada and Dresscode Project. The #HairHasNoGender campaign features 12 2SLGBTQ+ people with different career paths. They talk about their experiences (on camera) and the challenges they faced at work.

“Your workplace is like your second home. When you’re in a space where you’re just trying to do your job and the people around you aren’t supportive or don’t let you express yourself, it’s hard to be effective. So many queer and trans people feel like they can’t fully realize their potential professionally.”

At the same time, Pantene is also disseminating educational materials and tips for organizations and individuals to make the workplace more inclusive and help people learn to become more open and tolerant colleagues.
