In the 1930s, considering the success of cosmetics products in perfumeries (Helena Rubinstein, Estée Lauder…) Mr. Douglas, then President of Bourjois/Chanel, decided to launch the Barbara Gould brand with a complete offer for women. After it success in the United States, Barbara Gould will cross the Atlantic and will arrive in France a few years later.
